About Me:

Hey there! My name is Jonathan Hewitt, and I am the founder of TechFocus Recruitment.

I've spent a number of years immersed in the world of IT Recruitment. Recently, I decided it was the perfect moment to flip the page and start an exciting new chapter, specialising in what I do best: Connecting great people with great opportunities.

I started thinking, "What could I really build using all this knowledge and experience I’ve gathered?" And just like that, I began this incredible journey of creating my very own company-focused on scaling tech companies within Web3, Blockchain, and Fintech.

When I’m not building my business, my life is wonderfully busy at home! My amazing wife is from Peru, and we have a fantastic 12-year-old daughter named Kendra. The household boss is our English bulldog, Austin, who keeps me on my toes!

 Step 2: Sourcing

Recruiters actively search for candidates through a mix of traditional job boards, niche tech communities (like GitHub or Stack Overflow), and internal referral programs. Because up to 70% of global tech talent is "passive," this stage focuses on direct outreach to those not actively looking for work.

Step 3: Screening

This stage typically includes a brief phone or video "screen" to verify basic qualifications, alignment, communication skills, ability to work well within a team, right to work and gauge interest. 

Step 4: Assessing

This is the technical heart of the process, involving coding challenges, hackathons, or system design exercises that mirror real-world tasks. In 2025, modern IT hiring prioritizes these practical demonstrations of ability over traditional academic degrees.

Step 5: Onboarding
